Provider Access Policy Statement

This policy statement sets out our school’s arrangements for managing the access of providers to pupils at the school for the purpose of giving them information about the provider’s education or training offer. This complies with the school’s legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997 (Provider Access Legislation, also known as the Baker Clause).

Pupil entitlement: All pupils in Years 8–13 are entitled to:

(1) Learn about the full range of education and training opportunities available to them at each transition point.

(2) Hear from a range of local providers about approved technical education qualifications and apprenticeships.

(3) Understand how to apply to the full range of academic and technical courses.

Opportunities for access: A number of events, integrated into our careers programme, will offer providers an opportunity to come into school to speak to pupils and/or their parents.

Requests for access: A provider wishing to request access should contact Peter Wyatt, Careers Leader, via peterwyatt@hopespringcharity.org.uk or 0191 1183 771.

Safeguarding: Our safeguarding/child protection policy outlines the school’s approach to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of pupils.
